15   FINAL REPORT ON THE COMMISSION ON THE NATIONAL
          GUARD AND RESERVES
"The Commission is clear in their belief that 'there is no reasonable alternative
to the nation's continued increased reliance on Reserve Components as a part of
its operational force for missions at home and abroad.'" -
  RADM Casey Coane

20   HSC-85 FIREFIGHTING - NO MISSION IS IMPOSSIBLE
"The Sailors of HSC-85 took great pride in preparing the aircraft and Bambi
buckets for the aerial firefighting missions. Our ability to support this effort
with six aircrews and aircraft over this seven-day period would not have been
possible without our Selected Reserve personnel. Bottom line - it was a successful
team effort made possible by the 'High Roller' Sailors and the experts at CAL FIRE."
         - CDR Paul Mattingly
